Firms limbering up for our run
COMPETITION is heating up as companies bag places in this year’s Sunshine Run . IT Professional Services (ITPS) is not only supporting this year’s event, but also entering a team of employees to take part.
Fun-runners, athletes and teams from companies across the region will be taking part and running, jogging or walking the 5km route.
Hundreds are expected to turn out for the popular riverside run at 7pm on July 2.
ITPS marketing manager Lisa Richardson said the firm has been involved with the charity for several years and each time the number of participants grows.
The 30-year-old said: “The Sunshine Fund is a great charity so for me and the rest of the team. It is something we want to take part in.
“As we got more involved with the charity we started to realise how much it offers children. It is just fantastic. There are 12 members in the team so it should be a great day.”
The Sunshine Fund provides equipment that makes a big improvement to lives of disabled and seriously ill children in the North East, for which money is not easily available from other sources.
The fund is able to provide grants through the fundraising efforts of Chronicle readers and the support of many local businesses.
