Law Firm Staff Raise Thousands For Charity In Run

STAFF at a top Tyneside law firm are putting their best foot forward for charity. Legal clerks, solicitors and secretaries are all set to raise thousands of pounds in this year’s Sunshine Run, to raise charity cash for the Sunshine Fund, the Chronicle’s charity for sick and disabled children.
Fun-runners, athletes and teams from companies in the North East will be taking part and running, jogging or walking the 5km route on July 7.
Hundreds are expected to turn out for the popular riverside run.
This year Ward Hadaway, a Newcastle law firm, has entered a team of 20 members of staff.
Managing partner at the company Jamie Martin said: “As a firm we are always keen to support the local community in whatever way we can and the Evening Chronicle Sunshine Run is an excellent opportunity to do just that.
“The Sunshine Fund does an exceptional job in helping to improve the lives of disabled youngsters and their families right across the North East and we are proud to be playing a part in their year’s fund-raising efforts.”
The 5km Sunshine Run is the flagship event in the Sunshine Fund’s calendar and sees hundreds of people hit the Quayside.
Fundraiser and event organiser Angela Jepson said: “It’s great that Ward Hadaway has decided to take part in the run for yet another year.
“It’s brilliant that they have shown continuing support to our charity and I would encourage other teams and individuals to enter.”Runners will run the length of Newcastle Quayside from Wesley Square, then back over the Millennium Bridge to finish in Baltic Square.
The event will take place from 7pm on July 7.
Entry for the run is £15, which includes a T-shirt, and competitors are asked to raise at least £50 in sponsorship. You can download an entry form from the website.
