Their team of highly skilled and knowledgeable Family Advice Workers provide help, guidance and advice to parents of children with special needs. They support families, provide training in response to parents' needs, produce information and hold Networking Lunches every term for parents and workers to meet together in a friendly and welcoming way to exchange information.
The majority of the staff at Northeast Special Needs Network are carers or have a close family member who has a disability and are well aware of the additional pressures on families of bringing up a disabled child or young person.
It is free for parents to become members and a small annual cost to professionals.
