FASHION EVENT WILL RAISE CASH FOR CHARITY

A BUDDING events promoter will raise charity cash from a catwalk show. Newcastle College student Nicola McLanders has linked up with a boutique for a fashion show next month.

Cash from ticket sales will go to the Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund. Clothes for the models will be supplied by MaoCouture, a boutique in Station Road, South Gosforth, Newcastle.

Nicola is studying event management at the college and hopes the show will launch a career in the business. The 21-year-old, from Walker, Newcastle, said: “We hope to have a great night and raise lots of money for the Sunshine Fund.”

MaoCouture, run by designer Anh Mao, has kitted out TV celebrities, musicians and beauty queens.

Tickets for the event are available on the door at £5 or e-mail emanager-nicola@hotmail.com.
The event starts at 6.30pm on March 12 at the Performance Academy, on Newcastle’s College’s Scotswood Road campus.

The fund provides equipment to improve the lives of children who live with disabilities or are seriously ill.
