LEGAL AID FOR SANTA FUN RUN

04 December 2008

SOLICITOR’S STAFF TEAM UP TO RAISE CASH FOR CHRONICLE’S SUNSHINE FUND

LEGAL staff will be swapping their office garb for Christmas costumes for this year’s Santa Run. Forresters Solicitors in Jarrow has entered a team for the run, taking place on Sunday in aid of your Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund charity.
The team’s members will be among scores raising money for the Sunshine Fund, which supports disabled children across the North East, and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.
The team from Forresters is looking forward to dressing up for the two and a half mile event, which will see participants run through Exhibition Park and the Town Moor.
Leanne O’Doherty, who is organising the team, said she is using the run to kickstart training for taking part in the Great North Run.
The mum of two, who lives in Hebburn, said they were all looking forward to it.
She said: “It is a great charity to be running for so we thought we should just go for it.
“We have all been modifying our suits and it should be a lot of fun.”
It is not too late to enter our Santa Run, the only one of its kind in the North East.
There will be two runs on the day, one for adults and one for families.
The entry fee is £15 and £2.50 for each accompanying child.
Each adult will be sent their own Santa suit for the day, but children must find their own fancy dress.
Families, including two adults and two children, cost £25. One adult and one child costs £12.50.
To take part, download an application form from www.eveningchroniclesunshinefund.org.uk/events or contact Emma at the Sunshine Fund on (0191) 201 6090.
