Celebrity Question of Sport 2006 A star-studded sporting extravaganza raised thousands for the Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund. In November, sporting legends past and present joined forces with business leaders across the region at the Gosforth Park Marriott Hotel to compete in a special Question of Sport evening. Among those taking part were Newcastle United’s Peter Beardsley, Steve Harper, Steven Taylor and Peter Ramage as well as Niall Quinn and a whole host of Newcastle Falcons players. View Gallery

Evening Chronicle Sunshine Run, supported by Barclays On Wednesday 4th July 2007, hundreds of runners turned out to take part in the Sunshine Run and raise much needed cash to help local disabled children. Just look at the fun they had in the sun! View Gallery

Santa Run 2006 Century FM and the Newcastle Evening Chronicle joined forces to bring you the event of 2006 - The Fergusons Newcastle Santa Run. The event took place on Saturday 16th December at 11.00am, starting in Exhibition Park and then moving off around the Town Moor on a 4km route. The Fergusons Newcastle Santa Run raised money to help disabled and less advantaged children right here in the North East. View Gallery

Sunflower Ball 2006 On Friday 6th October 2006, the Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund hosted its annual charity ball, the profits of which will buy equipment for disabled children in the North East.
